If you know me, you know I love giving back to the community and to people who deserve it. After 10 years of speaking to kids and young adults, guiding our young people and inspiring them to be their best is a passion of mine that’s near and dear to my heart.
What I saw when I was in the military and building my real estate business was that there are practically NO books for kids or teenagers about how to get a mentor or be successful in business. This still seems to be an under-served market even now in 2014.
I’ve been kicking around an idea of producing a kids book to fit this need and give kids a book of exactly what to do to get the right mentor that will help them become successful in life. If I do end up green-lighting this project, I want as much of your input as possible. This is going to be a community project that we basically write together. Anyone that’s been reading my blog you know what I’m about, so you’ll understand why I want your help doing this and why it is so important to me.
Parents investing in their child’s success as early in their life as possible is extremely important. Sadly, too many of our young girls and boys don’t have the guidance and mentorship they need to become the successful, amazing adults they should be. The future of America (and the future of the world, for that matter) depends on the outcome of our young people. As investors, an investment in our kids is the best and smartest investment in our future that we can ever make.
Here’s the concept for the kids book that my team and I have been kicking around. Let me know what you think!
Alex and Drew have bright futures ahead of them. They both have dreams and goals and desires, just like any one of us. The two boys approach their goals in different ways. Will the boys reach their goals? See what happens to them as they follow their own paths in life! You will discover how the boys crush self doubt and negativity, overcoming challenges to live the life they’ve always wanted. This inspiring story is about rising above obstacles, working well with others and always striving to be all that you can be.
Do you know of any good mentorship books for preteens and teenagers? If this project gets the go-ahead, what would YOU like to see in the book? Let me know in the comment section! I can’t wait to hear back from you!
